General Information

Yoshio Markino: A Japanese Artist in London was developed by Kaylen Michaelis, an undergraduate at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She is an English and Spanish major, and is minoring in Native American Studies and Digital Humanities.

Her previous experiences with the digital humanities field have included work on the online George Eliot Archive directed by Dr. Beverley Park Rilett and a digital humanities literature course in which she pondered humanity’s relationship with technology past, present, and future. While working on the GE archive, she greatly contributed to the development of the subproject “Contemporaries on Eliot” and led the team as the assistant editor. Her interests in the digital humanities field has only grown since then, and this current project furthers her exploration of how technology can be used to promote knowledge not just in historical and academic terms, but in social and cultural ones.

This website and its surrounding components were built through the course ENGL 477: Advanced Topics in Digital Humanities taught by Dr. Adrian Wisnicki, the director of the One More Voice project. The project was made possible due to Dr. Wisnicki's support and the collaboration between the entire ENGL 477 class.
